The Lyrics

I ask for understanding now, of times long past and gone
I ask for inspiration now, and the words to write my song
I sit upon this shore of life, and watch the mocking sea
And wonder What I'm doing here, I'm longing to be free

I sit and watch the breakers on the shore crumble the mighty cliff-tops
Each ripple is a lick of death, like each beating of your heart

And one day when the world is gone, no eagle left to soar
Forever echo, throughout the realms of space, the breakers on the shore
